CBT SCHOOL Nu'z! July 2008

 


Hi Everyone,

We had a great year. Among our activities:

  1. The school actively participated in Shabbat services through the It's cool to go to shul program, held monthly. This included post bnai mitzvah young adults leading parts of the service and reading torah. We had excellent attendance from the children and their families.
  2. we held a cemetery clean up to start the year.
  3. we went to the corn maze and besides doing the maze, we collected material for the sukkah
  4. we decorated the sukkah and held a dinner in the sukkah
  5. we held a Channukah craft fair making gifts
  6. we volunteered three times at the Food Bank
  7. we had a tu b'shvat seder
  8. we had a pre-Pesach chocolate seder
  9. we sang in the interfaith Thanksgiving celebration
  10. we put on a Purim play
  11. we walked in crop walk
  12. we held the car wash/bake sale in support of practical small projects
  13. we went bowling
  14. we went rock climbing
  15. we did laser tag
  16. we had the end of the year bbq
  17. we participated in Climate Day and made a poster display (Nov 2007)
  18. Our 8th graders went to hear the presentation about the Jewish Community in China.
  19. We went to hear the Hillel presentation at Evergreen on Environmental efforts in Israel.
  20. Our 8th grade class published 3 newsletters with articles centered on their activities and Jewish themes.
