The Ark is
the holiest part of the synagogue, a shrine of knowledge, history, and
light. In the design of the Ark we
suspended into the mysterious dark all the tangible parts of the structure,
leaving the light to work its’ magic: from protecting the resting torahs, to
enveloping the rising congregation when the Ark is
open and filling the synagogue with the light of the menorah and the twelve
tribes of Israel.
